Marjorie Swan @ 917-968-0193 At PS 115 After School Program; our main goal is to empower young minds into reaching their maximum potential through learning. Our mission is to provide participants with skills and critical thinking power that they will need to move forward as young adult. Our after school program offers participants a wonderful experience and dynamic transition from their regular school day. The program forms a liaison from regular school supporting, enhancing and giving students the knowledge they need to become well rounded individuals. The curriculum involves; Arts and Craft and Creative Writing gives participants a chance to expand there thinking skills. This also helps them to put their ideas to work through being involved in making and creating things with their hands. Computer Training: gives Participants a chance to become familiar with the world of technology. Health and Fitness is yet another program that helps participants to develop a healthy life style. The participants get involved in running, jogging and various physical activities. Participants are also encouraged to drink water instead of soda and substances that have a high percentage of sugar. Sport is another part of our program that the children are enthusiastic about. In this department participants get the chance to take part in Football and Basketball. They are also given the opportunity to compete with other after school programs. During Basketball and Football competition our Cheerleading girls get a chance to show off their talents through different chants and cheer. When it’s time to chill with friends’ participants may have a choice of whether they want to be a part of Board Games which may involve chess to word search and scrabble. A simple game of Connect four gets the children excited. Dance and Drama gives participants a chance to show off their talents. Participants are given an opportunity to perform for their community leaders showing talents, skills and perfection acquired through Movement, Acting and Dance. Home work help is done on a daily basis. Staff works with the children to ensure that over fifty percent of their home work is completed As the Director of the after school program all participants are strongly encouraged to reach their goals and potentials through peer interaction and staff involvement. - Millennium's OST program PS 115 - Our activities include: |
